Program Details

Diving became your passion. You are ready for the first step towards a professional career in scuba diving. The PADI Divemaster Course is the first step.


During the course you will work closely with one of our experienced instructor assisting with student divers and developing your leadership abilities under his supervision. It covers all aspects of being a dive pro from understanding the physiology and physics of diving to mapping a dive site. You will become a leader who mentors and motivates others.

During the PADI Divemaster Course you will improve your dive skills and refine your rescue skills so you can easily anticipate and solve common problems. You will gain dive knowledge, management and supervision abilities so you can become a role model for divers everywhere.

As a PADI Divemaster you will lead others, supervise diving activities and assist with diver training.

To enroll to the PADI Divemaster Course you must meet the following requirements:

Be at least 18 years old.
Be in the possession of a valid EFR certificate (First Aid and CPR) within the past 24 months.
Be in the possession of a medical statement signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
Have at least 40 logged dives to begin the course and 60 logged dives to earn the certificate.
The duration of this course takes 14 days.

The PADI Divemaster Course is divided in 3 sections:

– Knowledge Development where you will improve your dive theory, the foundation for creative problem solving. This will mostly be learned by independent study, presentations and discussions.

Candidates will need to complete the knowledge reviews found in the Divemaster manual and the 2 part Divemaster exam scoring 75 % or higher on each part of the exam and they will also need to prepare an

emergency assistance plan with information needed to manage a diving accident at any dive site.

– Water skills Development proving your competence for in-water skills.

Candidates need to complete 5 water skills exercises earning a total score of at least 15 points.

The 5 exercises are:

Swimming 400 meters nonstop without aid and using any stroke.
Tread water or float for 15 minutes using no aids with hands out of the water during the last 2 minutes.
Swimming 800 meters face down, using mask, snorkel and fins, nonstop without flotation aids and without using arms to swim.
Tow or push 100 meters nonstop a diver at the surface, without assistance, both divers fully equipped.
Equipment exchange, in confined water, of all equipment (except suit and weights) with a buddy sharing a single regulator second stage.
Candidates must develop demonstration quality diving skills and also practice and perform a role model mask removal and replacement demonstration.

Practical Application Sessions getting hands on experience of dealing with actual diving problems that occur.

Topics and workshops include:

The role and characteristics of the PADI Divemaster.
Supervising dive activities and assisting with student divers.
Diver safety and risk management.
Divemaster conducted programs and specialized skills.
Business of diving and your career.
Awareness of the dive environment.
Dive setup and management.
Mapping an open water dive site.
Conducting dive briefings.
Organizing a search and recovery project and a deep dive.
Conducting a scuba review and skin diver course.
Assisting with Discovering Scuba Diving (introductory dive) and leading discover local diving programs.
When becoming a dive professional, you need to consider to have all your basic diving equipment, including a diving computer, a dive knife, a compass and at least 2 surface signaling devices. You will also use floats, marker buoys, lift bags and slates. Your PADI instructor may also suggest additional gear needed during your diving career.

The manual and certificate are not included in the price.
